An inspiring day full of ideas and experiences: Tuleviku Meedia Media Literacy Conference

On 26 February 2025, the Media Literacy Conference took place in Tallinn with the aim of giving teachers new knowledge and inspiration for creating media lessons, as well as sharing and improving their own techniques. The conference was made possible thanks to the support of the British Council in Estonia.
  • 120 participants: teachers, education and youth workers, communication specialists, partners
  • 9 speakers
  • Presentation of a creative multimedia project: premiere of a short film created by Alina Serkutan, media teacher at Tallinn Jewish School, and her students especially for our conference. The short film reflects on the past, present and future of media
  • A sea of emotions, ideas and experiences

"Teachers, youth workers, educators - your role is to help children and young people navigate the chaotic world of media. And your role is now more important than ever. Today we meet you on the border between winter and spring... And I believe that warmth, light and honesty will prevail. And media literacy, may it become our superpower! Thank you for dedicating your time to media literacy," said NGO Tuleviku Meedia founder Julia Rodina in her opening speech.

Sincere thanks to participants, lecturers, partners and our volunteers!
Many thanks to Ursula Roosmaa, Director of the British Council in Estonia, who addressed the participants with opening remarks, for her support.

Special thanks and respect to the conference speakers! Marianna Makarova, Ljudmilla Roždestvenskaja, Oksana Belova-Dalton, Pavel Ivanov, Jelena Moisejeva, Valentina Marcinkevicene, Konstantin Petrov, Inger Klesment, Julia Rodina.

At the event, presentation of a creative multimedia project took place: premiere of a short film created by Alina Serkutan, media teacher at Tallinn Jewish School, and her students especially for our conference. The short film reflects on the past, present and future of media.

And here is just one example of the inspiring feedback we received: "Many thanks for the excellent organisation of such an informative conference, for raising hot topics and for very interesting statistics! We hope to meet again!"
