Participants of the workshops in Narva American Space started the school year at the pace of media literacy

We finalised our series of media literacy workshops for teachers from Narva and Ida-Viru County which took place in Narva American Space and online. Thank you, U.S. Embassy Tallinn, Estonia, Narva American Space, and Narva Central Library for making this course possible!

Many of the participants have already applied their new knowledge in the classroom during the first month of the new school year. Thank you, teachers! It is always a great pleasure to work with you.

In August and September, the participants met with Radio 4 and ETV+ journalist Mihhail Komashko, Delovye Vedomosti editor-in-chief Olesja Lagashina and Julia Rodina, founder of MTÜ Tuleviku Meedia. The teachers also visited Estonian Public Broadcasting Narva editorial office and studios.

The course covered a wide range of topics, including: journalistic genres and ethics, fact-checking, digital security, the impact of media and advertising, media business models, media literacy teaching methodologies.
